At Moy Acupuncture & Wellness, your first visit is designed to allow time for a thorough discussion of your health history, current concerns, and wellness goals. We believe understanding each individual's needs is an important part of developing an appropriate care approach.
Complete any required intake forms at the time of your appointment.
During your initial consultation, our Practitioner will review information about your:
Current health concerns and goals
Health history
Lifestyle factors
Previous treatments or relevant experiences
Any questions or concerns you may have regarding acupuncture care
This visit provides an opportunity to discuss whether acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine may be an appropriate option for your individual needs.
If acupuncture care is appropriate and you choose to proceed, the initial acupuncture visit may include:
A review of your consultation findings
Discussion of the proposed acupuncture approach
Acupuncture treatment using sterile, single-use needles
Time to discuss your experience and any questions following treatment
Treatment plans are individualized and may vary depending on each person's health history, goals, and response to care.
Follow-up visits are tailored to each individual's needs. During these visits, your practitioner will review your progress, discuss any changes or concerns, and adjust the approach as appropriate.
To help support your visit:
Arrive a few minutes early: Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your first appointment to allow time to complete intake forms and get settled before your visit begins.
Prepare your health information: Please bring a list of current medications, supplements, relevant medical conditions, previous treatments, and any health information you would like to discuss.
Wear comfortable clothing: Choose clothing that allows access to areas that may be assessed or treated, such as the arms, legs, back, or other areas depending on your concerns.
Eat normally before your visit: It is generally recommended to avoid arriving on an empty stomach. A light meal before your appointment may help you feel more comfortable during care.
Share important updates: Please inform your practitioner about any changes in your health, medications, pregnancy status, or other relevant concerns.
Avoid alcohol or recreational substances before your appointment: For your safety and to support clear communication during your visit, please avoid arriving under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances, including cannabis. Please inform your practitioner of any substance use that may be relevant to your care.
Your comfort and safety are important. Our goal is to provide a respectful and compassionate environment where patients can explore acupuncture care as part of their overall approach to health and wellbeing.
